cité des sciences

maison du savoir

The “Maison du Savoir” (House of Knowledge), the blast furnaces and the RBC tower, constitute a symbolic triangle of the renovated Belval that brings the industrial past face to face with the future development of the site.

This first “Cité des Sciences” project is also its nucleus, surrounded by themed buildings that accommodate the various branches of scientific research. The apparent simplicity of the building is the result of extensive research on functionality, which combines efficiency with timeless elegance. A large building and an 83-metre-high dual-base tower houses both the education department and the rector’s office. This joint dynamic – horizontal knowledge transfer and vertical achievement of the institution – makes it a true symbol of the University of Luxembourg.
